Flowering shrubs and vines

This mysterious scene (left) shows a forest of Puya plants beside a small lake at about 3000m, which have died after flowering.

Below are some of the flowers from the highest parts of the reserve, at 3300-3500m altitude. A Calceolaria , a Gentian, and a Valerian, and below, a small shrub ( Compositae ), a Oxalis sp., and a Ranunculus sp.
